Deputy Sheriff (S1) Pay Schedule

NOTES:

This pay schedule applies to employees in the classification of Deputy Sheriff I

Implements negotiated pay schedule effective with July 12, 2007 pay period: added 8.5% to the minimum and approximately 7.12% to the maximum of the 4/5/07 pay scale; 3% across the board adjustment for employees, not to exceed maximum for pay grade

An employee with at least 1 year of service on 7/12/07 whose salary is below $40,000 after application of the 3% across the board adjustment and any merit increase due on that date will have their pay increased to $40,000; any employee with less than 1 year of service on 7/12/07 whose salary is below $38,000 after application of the 3% across the board adjustment due on that date will have their pay increased to $38,000

Employees who achieve a satisfactory performance review shall receive a 4% merit pay advancement in 12 month intervals, not to exceed maximum for pay grade

Hourly pay rate determined by dividing annual pay by 2080 hours, rounded to 3 decimal places

   

Deputy Sheriff II (S2) Pay Schedule

This pay schedule applies to employees in the classification of Deputy Sheriff II (Sheriff Sergeant)

Implements negotiated pay schedule effective with July 12, 2007 pay period: added 5.99% to the minimum and 3% to the maximum of the 7/13/06 pay scale; 3% across the board adjustment for employees, not to exceed maximum for pay grade

Employees who achieve a satisfactory performance review shall receive a 4% merit pay advancement in 12 month intervals, not to exceed maximum for pay grade

Hourly pay rate determined by dividing annual pay by 2080 hours, rounded to 3 decimal places

  

Sheriff Management (S3 - S4) Pay Schedule

NOTES:

This pay schedule applies to non-represented employees in the classifications of Deputy Sheriff III (Lieutenant) and Deputy Sheriff IV (Captain)

Implements legislated pay schedule effective with July 12, 2007 pay period: added 2% to the minimum and maximum of the 7/13/06 pay scale; 2% across the board pay adjustment for employees, not to exceed maximum for pay grade

Establishes pay schedule effective with January 10, 2008 pay period: added 1% to the minimum and maximum of the 7/12/07 pay scale; 1% across the board adjustment for employees, not to exceed maximum for pay grade

Progression through pay range is by Pay for Performance based on an annual evaluation: (1) annual base pay adjustment cannot exceed 10% of current salary; (2) adjusted salary cannot exceed the maximum for pay grade; (3) unsatisfactory performers are not entitled to a pay increase; (4) funds available for increases subject to budget appropriations

Schedule adjustments and across the board increases are provided at the direction of the County Executive as approved by the County Council
