Your car is a key to your safety if you need to evacuate from a hurricane or other disaster. Here are some tips for what to do with your automobile.

Make sure you maintain a full tank of gas in your car
You should fill the tank as soon as a Tropical Storm forms near our coast and keep it full
Safest place for your vehicle is in a garage or carport
Park your car as close to your residence as possible and away from power lines or trees
Make sure your tires are fully inflated and the battery is charged - you may need your car radio for vital information
Keep a small hurricane kit as a back-up to your hurricane plan
