County Executive Laura Neuman Appoints Christine Romans as Acting Director of Department of Inspections and Permits

Brings extensive management experience to position
 
Annapolis, Maryland (June 12, 2013) — Anne Arundel County Executive Laura Neuman today named Christine Romans as Acting Director of the Department of Inspections and Permits.
 
“Christine brings a wealth of management experience and leadership to this position,” said County Executive Neuman. “Her diverse interdisciplinary background, communication and management skills make Christine uniquely qualified to lead the department as they move forward.”
 
Until her appointment as Acting Director, Romans was the Assistant Director in the Department of Public Works.  Prior to coming to the County, Romans was the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for the Maryland Department of Transportation.  There she oversaw the offices of procurement, finance, treasury, audits, and research and analysis.   
 
Romans will replace Jim Pittman who has served in the role for the last four months.  Pittman will return to his position as Deputy Director in the Department of Public Works, Waste Management Services.
 
“I want to thank Jim Pittman for serving as Acting Director of the Department of Inspections and Permits for the past four months,” said County Executive Neuman.  “I appreciate his willingness to assist during a period of transition.”
 
Romans appointment begins June 13, 2013.
