County Executive Laura Neuman Announces County Offices Closed on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5, 2013 in Observance of Independence Day

Publish Date: 07/01/2013
Annapolis, Maryland (July 1, 2013) Anne Arundel County Executive Laura Neuman announced today that all County offices will be closed for normal business on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5, 2013 in celebration of Independence Day.   Friday will be an administrative leave day for non-essential employees.
During the last two years County employees were forced to take 24 furlough days, said County Executive Neuman.  I want to thank employees for their continued hard work and dedication during difficult economic times by allowing them to take an extra day for the holiday weekend to spend with their families."
County agencies that have 24/7 operations will continue to operate on both July 4th and 5th.  Those employees who are required to work on July 5th, will be able to schedule an alternate administrative leave day off.
Closing County offices for both days isnt just good for employees but it is also more energy and cost-efficient, added County Executive Neuman.
County offices will resume normal business operations on Monday, July 8th.
