Anne Arundel County’s Office of Planning and Zoning Announces Upcoming Public Meetings with the Transportation Commission

Publish Date: 09/17/2013
Annapolis, Maryland (September 17, 2013) – County Executive Laura Neuman today announced the creation of a Transportation Commission whose charge will be to provide input regarding transportation programs in the County.

The Transportation Commission is hosting two meetings in order to solicit public comment regarding the County's transportation programs, specifically those involving public transit, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, roads and bridges, and program management.

“It is important that we have public representation on all of our boards and commissions,” said Executive Neuman. “I am committed to an open and transparent government. I want our residents to have a seat at the table and have a voice in decisions made about them and their future.”

The public is invited to attend the Transportation Commission's public meetings on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Annapolis High School, and on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Meade Middle School.  Both meetings will begin at 6:00 PM and continue until 8:00 PM.  The meetings will involve a workshop format with questions and comments provided to Commission members as well as County Office of Planning & Zoning staff.

Information gained from these meetings will be provided to the Transportation Commission and the County Executive.  For more information regarding the meetings please contact the Office of Planning & Zoning at (410) 222-7440.
