Anne Arundel County Residents Encouraged to Join Boards and Commissions
Membership Varies from Economic Development to Soil Conservation
Annapolis, Md. (November 4, 2013) – Anne Arundel County residents interested in becoming involved in County government are encouraged to volunteer on one of several County boards and commissions. Openings exist for the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation, Personnel Board, Pension Oversight Commission, Soil Conservation District, Commission for Women and the Odenton Town Plan Oversight Committee. The only criteria for joining an Anne Arundel County board or commission is that participants live or maintain a business in the County.
“We want our residents to have a say in the future of our County,” said County Executive Laura Neuman. “Serving on a board or commission is the perfect way to help shape policy and, perhaps more than that, understand how County government works for its citizens. My commitment to our residents is to have an open and transparent government, so I invite our residents to have a seat at the table in our decision-making processes.”
