Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities Will Open Senior Activity Centers as Warming Centers on Tuesday, January 7, 2014

County Executive Neuman to Visit O’Malley Senior Center at  8:15 a.m.

 

Annapolis, Maryland January 6, 2014) — The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities today announced plans to open all seven senior activity centers as warming centers tomorrow during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.). The centers will be open to anyone needing shelter from the cold.

 

“We don’t want any Anne Arundel County resident to feel like they have to suffer through the cold,” said Executive Neuman.  “Our centers will be open all day for the benefit of our residents.”  Executive Neuman will visit the O’Malley Senior Activity Center at 1275 Odenton Road, Odenton at  8:15 a.m. to thank staff for their service to the community.

 

The Department’s transportation program will also accept calls between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to transport Anne Arundel County citizens of all ages to warming centers throughout the County.  Children must be supervised by a responsible adult or guardian at all times. Citizens can call the transportation program at 410-222-4826.
