Leopold today expressed his condolences to the family of Chief Administrative Officer Dennis Callahan, who passed away this morning of a heart attack. “I always considered Dennis Callahan a trusted friend and advisor who offered his candid opinions, whether they agreed with mine or not,” County Executive Leopold said. “Dennis had a long distinguished career of public service, serving as Mayor of Annapolis, Director of Recreation and Parks and Chief Administrative Officer of Anne Arundel County. Many citizens will join me in offering our sincerest condolences to his wife, Brenda, his two sons, grandchildren and many friends and family. He will be missed.” Callahan, 70, was a Democratic rival of County Executive Leopold’s who became the first person appointed to the cabinet in 2006. |
