Economic Development Week Proclaimed in Anne Arundel County
Local Government Personnel Association Names Fulton Personnel Executive of the Year
“We are fortunate to have people like Ande working on behalf of Anne Arundel County,” said County Executive John R. Leopold. “The outstanding service and needed support Ande provides to our nearly four thousand County employees helps to ensure they achieve our mission of successfully delivering the best possible services to our citizens.”
“Since her appointment in 2007, Ms. Fulton’s significant successful efforts have improved the support services and benefits for County employees and helped to save tax payers millions of dollars. Some of Ms. Fulton’s notable achievements as the County’s top Personnel officials include successfully negotiating labor agreements with the County’s 13 unions and saving the County $15 million dollars and improving benefits by competitively bidding of employee health care provider coverage for the first time since the 1990’s.”
“Using our Veteran’s preference statutory authority, Ande has helped in the hiring of more than 100 veterans,” Mr. Leopold added.
The Local Government Personnel Association of Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. area was founded more than fifty years ago by the Personnel Directors of five government jurisdictions and has now grown to include the personnel directors and staff of over forty member organizations. The Personnel Executive of the Year Award is part of the LGPA’s Best and Brightest program to promote and encourage professionalism among personnelists in the association’s 40 member jurisdictions.
