County Executive Leopold Encourages Citizens to Attend Annual Housing Expo This Weekend
Event will be at Marley Middle School Saturday, April 21
Annapolis, MD (April 17, 2012) - County Executive Leopold today encouraged citizens interested in owning a home to attend the annual Anne Arundel County Housing Expo at Marley Middle School this Saturday.
"The Housing Expo is a great place to learn about the path to home ownership and the programs available to assist buyers," County Executive Leopold said. "Counselors can help citizens prepare financially to buy a home. People who never thought they could afford a home have been successful with the help of this event."
The Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Marley Middle School, located at 10 Davis Court in Glen Burnie. It will feature exhibits, workshops, information about financial assistance programs, and activities for children. In addition, attendees will have a chance to talk to housing counselors, lenders and Realtors as well as nonprofit housing agencies about the home buying process and the products and services available to persons wanting to purchase or renovate a home in Anne Arundel County.
“We offer a variety of programs that can help County residents prepare for the purchase of their first home and programs that help homeowners make affordable improvements to their homes," said Anne Arundel Community Development Services Executive Director Kathleen Koch.
The Expo is sponsored by ACDS, a private, nonprofit corporation established in 1993 by Anne Arundel County to create and retain affordable housing opportunities within the County, and the Anne Arundel County Association of Realtors. The Expo is free and open to the public.
