Bill 65-11 Bill Signing Ceremony

Annapolis, MD (October 21, 2011) - County Executive John R. Leopold will officially sign County Council Bill 65-11 during a bill signing ceremony. Bill 65-11 provides a new three-year Dog and Cat license option with license discounts. Seniors, 60 years of age or older, will continue to receive free licenses if their dogs or cats are spayed or neutered.

Mr. Leopold proposed this legislation after discussing the issue with Dr. Christine Calvert, a Pasadena veterinarian. The Administration hopes that extending the duration of licenses will actually increase dog and cat registrations in Anne Arundel County and reduce administrative costs.
