Cleanup Work Continues on Riva Road After 12 Inch Water Main Break South of Annapolis

Riva Road Bride to Reopen at 12 a.m.
Annapolis, Maryland (June 19, 2011) - The Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works Utility Crews have repaired a 12 inch water main break this evening at Riva Road and Old Riva Road and now work to restore excavation needed to locate, isolate and replace broken pipe.
The break was reported at approximately 6:30 p.m. after visible signs of water in the road.  The Riva Road bridge was immediately closed to traffic in both directions. The bridge is expected to be reopened at approximately 12 a.m. upon completion of restoration efforts. 
The cause of the break is unknown at this time.
