Candidates Wanted to Fill Commission for Women Student Associate Position

The Anne Arundel County Commission for Women is currently accepting applications for their student associate position. Eligible candidates must be entering the 11th grade of a public or private high school in Anne Arundel County at the beginning of the school year and must have a B average. The successful candidate will serve a two-year term for the entirety of her junior and senior years. Commission service offers applicants the perfect opportunity to demonstrate their leadership skills and add value to their list of extracurricular accomplishments.

The Student Associate Commissioner will be appointed prior to August 2011, so that she will be able to attend the commission’s annual retreat and participate in planning for fiscal year 2012. Applicants must agree to participate in the regular activities of the Commission, including monthly evening meetings held at the YWCA in Arnold, MD at 7pm and weekend activities, and to propose and carry out a project of value to women and their families with the help of other Commissioners.
