| Annapolis, MD (April 1, 2010) - County Executive John R. Leopold issued the following statement regarding the certification of signatures by the Anne Arundel County Board of Elections placing slot machines on the November ballot:
"In response to the official certification by the Board of Elections, I have directed the County Department of Planning and Zoning to halt consideration of plans filed to build a slots facility at Arundel Mills, pending a decision by the court or the voters," County Executive Leopold said. "I respect the democratic process and hope that in the interest of our citizens this issue is resolved expeditiously." |
