Rehabilitation Project Will Upgrade System, Expand Capacity and Replace Septic Systems Annapolis (June 1, 2010) - Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works is set to begin a major sewer system improvement project in the Ritchie Highway area between Marley Station Road and Jumpers Hole Road. Phase II of the Marley/Jumpers Sewer Rehabilitation Project will start in the third week of June and relieve capacity issues in the area with the construction of 6,180 linear feet of sewer pipe. Installation of the 6,180 linear feet of sewer pipe starts at Hammock Lane in Pasadena and proceeds along Kellington Drive across Rt. 2 through Patriot's Plaza. The sewer line then crosses Jumpers Hole Road and ends at the Exxon Gas station at 8101 Ritchie Highway. Residents along the new sewer line will have the option to replace their septic systems with public sewer connection to the new line. An informational public meeting will be scheduled in the near future to provide details of the projects. Residents will be notified of the date, time and location of this meeting. Work hours along Ritchie Highway and Jumpers Hole Road will take place Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Hours of work for other roads included in the project will be Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The project is expected to be completed in June of 2011. |
