County Executive Leopold Invites the Public to Attend Annual Housing Expo in Glen Burnie
Features tips on buying your first home, ways to avoid foreclosure
Annapolis (May 18, 2010) - County Executive John R. Leopold today encouraged citizens to attend the annual Housing Expo in Glen Burnie, an event that brings counselors and housing assistance program information directly to the public.
"The Housing Expo is the County’s annual effort to reach out to all County residents to provide information about the variety of affordable housing programs available through Arundel Community Development Services, our housing agency," County Executive Leopold said.
The Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on May 22 at Marley Middle School, located at 10 Davis Court in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The event will feature exhibits, workshops, information about financial assistance programs, and activities for children.
Attendees will have a chance to talk to housing counselors, lenders and Realtors, as well as nonprofit housing agencies about the home buying process and the products and services available to those wanting to purchase or renovate a home in Anne Arundel County. Counselors will also be on hand to provide free credit reports and assist homeowners facing foreclosure.
The Expo is sponsored by Arundel Community Development Services, Inc., a private, nonprofit corporation established in 1993 by Anne Arundel County to create and retain affordable housing opportunities within the County, and the Anne Arundel County Board of Realtors. The event is free and open to the public.
