Anne Arundel County Announces Household Hazardous Waste Schedule for 2010

Annapolis (March 31, 2010)-The Anne Arundel County, Bureau of Waste Management Services today announced the Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off days for 2010. Some household products may be considered hazardous and should not be included in regular household trash. In order to properly dispose of these products Anne Arundel County holds several Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off days each year.

Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Days for 2010 are as follows:

April 10, 2010 - Sudley Convenience Center, 5400 Nutwell Sudley Road, Deale

May 15, 2010 - Glen Burnie Convenience Center, 100 Dover Road, Glen Burnie

June 19, 2010 - Millersville Landfill & Resource Recovery Facility, 389 Burns Crossing Road, Severn

July 10, 2010 - Sudley Convenience Center, 5400 Nutwell Sudley Road, Deale

September 11, 2010 - Glen Burnie Convenience Center, 100 Dover Road, Glen Burnie

October 16, 2010 - Millersville Landfill & Resource Recovery Facility, 389 Burns Crossing Road, Severn

November 13, 2010 - Glen Burnie Convenience Center, 100 Dover Road, Glen Burnie

Household Hazardous Waste will be collected between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

This program is for Anne Arundel County residents only delivering household hazardous waste. Waste from businesses is not permitted. Residents are encouraged to first use up chemicals, pesticides and other household products entirely for their intended use.  If a product cannot be used in full, then the County's program is the next best alternative.  Products containing toxic chemicals include: oven cleaners, wood preservatives, pesticides, flammable liquids, oil-based paint, fluorescent light fixtures, gasoline, mercury thermometers and disinfectants.
