County Executive Leopold Announces Application Period is Open for Community Grants

Targeted funding aims at safety net and arts

Annapolis (December 28, 2009) - County Executive John R. Leopold announced today that applications for the Community Grants Program are now online with a deadline of February 4.

"This difficult economy has hit everyone from Fortune 500 companies to our smallest nonprofits, but I remain committed to helping provide a safety net for our community when budgets are tight," County Executive Leopold said. "Past recipients who show a strong management plan to maximize taxpayer funding will be rewarded with continued support."

The program provides direct benefits to organizations that help feed the homeless, provide job training, offer cultural experiences for the community, facilitate after-school activities for children, help the developmentally disabled and provide child care.

To apply for a Community Grant, go to Community Support Grants page and fill out the application.
