County Executive Leopold Announces Extended Period for Citizens to Comment on General Development Plan
Annapolis (February 10, 2009) - County Executive John R. Leopold today announced that the comment period for the General Development Plan has been extended from February 16, 2009 to a revised date of February 27, 2009.
Mr. Leopold strongly encourages residents to get involved in the process of setting land use policy for the next decade by attending the remaining public forum that is scheduled for February 11, 2009 at North County Senior High School’s Cafeteria located at 10 East First Avenue in Glen Burnie and providing feedback to the Office of Planning and Zoning during the comment period. A Draft Plan is also posted online for public review and comment.
"Three goals of this plan are to keep South County rural, revitalize older communities and create mixed-use, transit-oriented development," County Executive Leopold said. "We encourage Anne Arundel County citizens to attend these forums in order to help ensure that our blueprint takes everyone’s views into account."
