Planning Advisory Board Announces Members of the Special Advisory Committee

Annapolis (February 14, 2008) - Just two months after County Executive John R. Leopold called for more public input in the County’s General Development Plan (GDP) revision process, the County’s Planning Advisory Board (PAB) announced today the new members of the Special Advisory Committee (SAC).

Annapolis (February 14, 2008) - Just two months after County Executive John R. Leopold called for more public input in the County’s General Development Plan (GDP) revision process, the County’s Planning Advisory Board (PAB) announced today the new members of the Special Advisory Committee (SAC).

The SAC members will be responsible providing timely review and comment of the findings and recommendations for the updated GDP to the Planning Advisory Board.

"I want to congratulate the Planning Advisory Board for selecting a diverse group of highly qualified county residents with a wealth of knowledge and diverse backgrounds," County Executive Leopold said. "It is imperative that the public be given ample opportunity for input in the revision of the General Development Plan. The PAB’s Special Advisory Committee is a welcome initiative to accomplish this goal."

Collectively the 21-member Special Advisory Committee has more than 646 years of county residency with the average residency of 31 years. From an agribusiness professional to architects, educators, and urban planners, the members offer a broad range of expertise.

The members of the SAC include the following county residents:

  • Elliott Powell, At-Large Home Builders Association of Maryland, Real Estate Development
  • Harold Kumer, At-Large Housing, Housing Economist with HUD
  • Stuart Schoenburg, At-Large Legal, Environmental and Energy Specialist
  • Dinsmoore White, Annapolis Neck, Professional Planner & Urban Designer
  • Sally Hornor, At-Large Severn River, Member of the Severn River Commission
  • William Nevel, Broadneck, Transportation Professional
  • Carl Brooks, Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Park Community Activist
  • Peter Notari, BWI/ Linthicum, Architect and Designer
