Foreign Workers Employment Practice Workshop Announced
Annapolis, MD (February 7, 2008) - Anne Arundel County Executive John R. Leopold is inviting county businesses to attend a workshop that will address lawful employment practices involving foreign workers. The Foreign Workers Employment Practice Workshop will take place on Thursday, March 13, from 8:00 a.m. to noon at the BWI Airport Marriott on 1743 West Nursery Road in Baltimore.
"Anne Arundel County businesses face a challenge with the ever-changing demographics of the workforce population and the increasing demand for skilled workers," said County Executive Leopold. "The Foreign Workers Employment Practice Workshop is a valuable educational resource as our employers strive to comply with federal hiring laws."

Two panels of experts will provide information and case studies on topics such as discrimination, understanding complex documentation, background screening, legal issues, tax issues, and compliance with federal employment laws.

Hannon, President and CEO of the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC). "It has been sponsored by a partnership of business organizations to address this growing concern."
