County Executive John R. Leopold Extends Best Wishes to PIO in Her New Position
Annapolis (March 31, 2008)- County Executive John R. Leopold announced today that his Special Assistant for Communication and Policy, Marina Cooper, will be departing the Administration to pursue a position in higher education in Baltimore County.
"Marina’s communication background made her an asset to the Administration and I wish her the very best," said County Executive Leopold. "I thank her for her service to the citizens of Anne Arundel County and I know that she will excel in her new position."
"I feel privileged to have served in this Administration in a role that not only suited my strengths but allowed me to directly interact with a broad range of groups and individuals," Marina said. "The opportunity to work closely with Mr. Leopold on a day-to-day basis has been invaluable."
Having worked in communications at the Maryland State Department of Education and the Maryland Office of the Secretary of State, Marina joined the Leopold Administration last July. Some of her responsibilities included handling media relations, representing the County Executive in the community, serving as constituent and community services specialist for Severn, Odenton, and Fort Meade, as well as producing and anchoring the weekly Channel 98 TV show Anne Arundel County Week-in-Review.
