County Executive John R. Leopold Announces County News Show Wins Telly Award
Annapolis, MD (August 24, 2007) - Anne Arundel County Executive John R. Leopold announced today the weekly county TV news program, Anne Arundel County Week In Review, was the winner of a 2007 Bronze Telly Award for outstanding local or regional TV program.
"The show has proved to be an effective and entertaining way for us to let County residents know what is happening in local government and their communities," said County Executive Leopold. "We strive to make it informative and enjoyable so that viewers continue to tune in every week."
Anne Arundel County Week In Review is produced weekly and airs 7 days-a-week on channel 98, the County’s public access channel. The 30-minute show uses a new show format to reports the latest events happenings in Anne Arundel County Government and the greater community each and every week. Live reports from field reporters, updates from the Police, Fire, and Health departments, weekly interviews of special guests by the County Executive, himself, and even a sports segment are featured in the show.
With a record 14,362 entries from all 50 states and around the world, this year's competition was the most competitive in the 28-year history of the Telly Awards.
A prestigious judging panel of over 40 accomplished industry professionals, each a past Winner of a Silver Telly, the top honor, judged the competition. Less than 10% of entries are chosen as Winners of a Silver Telly, our highest honor. Other outstanding work is awarded a Bronze Telly.
