County Executive John R. Leopold Calls for Public Input on Budget and Affordable Housing

'

Annapolis, MD (October 16, 2007) - County Executive John R. Leopold announced today the availability of federal funds for housing and community development activities in Anne Arundel County and the public is encouraged to attend and share their views on the issue at an upcoming public budget hearing.

The FY 2009 budget process will officially begin on October 25, 2007 at a public hearing to be held at 6:30 p.m. at Victoria Park senior apartments in Edgewater, Maryland.

"This hearing is a great opportunity for citizens and community organizations to talk about the needs they see in their communities and make suggestions for housing and community development needs of low and moderate income residents of Anne Arundel County," said County Executive Leopold.

The hearing is also an opportunity for Arundel Community Development Services, Inc. (ACDS) to report on the County’s housing and community development accomplishments from the past year. ACDS is a nonprofit organization under contract with Anne Arundel County to administer its housing and community activities.
