Annapolis (April 27, 2007) - The Department of Public Works (DPW), Bureau of Highways has received notification of a State Highway Hauling Permit involving Birdsville Road in Davidsonville. Birdsville Road is included on the route being used by a contractor to transport a large piece of electrical equipment. The contractor is expected to be on Birdsville Road at approximately10:30 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2007. It is expected that the contractor will reach Route 2 by 11:30 p.m. that night depending upon travel conditions. While two-way traffic will be maintained along Birdsville Road during the move, motorists are asked to heed directions from State Police who are assisting in this move. In addition, minor delays may be encountered. Under the terms of the permit, DPW will provide inspection services to ensure that the structural integrity of the road is not impacted. A performance bond is being secured by DPW in the event damage occurs as a result of this move. |
