County Executive Owens Opens Medicare Part D Assistance Center at New Location
Annapolis, MD (November 6, 2006) - Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. Owens officially opened the Anne Arundel County Medicare Part D Assistance Center at the Annapolis Senior Activity Center today.
"This center is needed to address the concerns of our residents, and no one will walk away without the necessary information to get the coverage that is right for them," said Ms. Owens.
In January of 2006, the County Executive opened the Medicare Part D Assistance Center on Riva Road and served more than 1,250 citizens in just three months. The Center allows County seniors and disabled citizens to come in, free of charge, and work with professionals from the Department of Aging and Disabilities. The professionals will answer questions specific to Medicare Part D and will discuss options with the seniors to get the best coverage for their needs.
"Even if you chose a plan last year, everyone needs to revisit Medicare Part D to see if the plane for 2006 is still the best plan," said Ms. Owens. "This year, there are more than 56 plans to select from, and our staff will be available to help you make the best decision."
The Medicare Part D Assistance Center is located at the Bates Senior Activity Center, 119 South Villa Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401 (Wiley H. Bates Heritage Park) and officially opened Monday, November 6, 2006. The hours of operation will be, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but seniors must make an appointment by calling (410) 222-4464. Transportation is available by calling the same number.
The center will open from Monday November 6, 2006 and remain open until Friday, December 29, 2006.
