Annapolis, MD (March 17, 2006) - Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. Owens announced today, the Anne Arundel County Medicare Part D Assistance Center has helped 1,250 area residents since opening January 27, 2006. "I am proud to know that we have been able to reach out and help our seniors and disabled residents in the County," said Ms. Owens. The County Executive opened the new Assistance Center, located at 2666 Riva Road, Suite 110; after seeing the urgent need for understanding the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan. "It’s confusing and frustrating to many of our seniors. Staff from the Department of Aging and Disabilities remain at the center, available free of charge to help with questions and concerns," added Ms. Owens. Transportation is available to the center, which is open Monday through Friday. For transportation requests or to make an appointment, residents are asked to call (410) 222-4464. Professionals will be staffed at the center until May 15, 2006 to answer questions specific to Medicare Part D and discuss options to get the best coverage for their needs. |
