Anne Arundel County Executive Owens Leaves for Israel
Annapolis, MD (February 23, 2006) - Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. Owens left today for a five-day trip to Israel. Ms. Owens will spend the majority of her time meeting with various Israeli companies who have ties to the Greater Baltimore region and will contact potential companies, attracting business to the Chesapeake Innovation Center in Anne Arundel County.
The trip will also include meeting with various leaders of local governments, as well as visits to both educational and medical institutions.
"This is a very dramatic time for our Israeli allies and I feel it is imperative that every level of government within the United States shows support and commitment to our allies," said Ms. Owens.
County Executive Owens chose to take the trip privately, accompanied by her husband David. "This is an extraordinary opportunity for us to visit the many Holy Sites of Israel which embody our Judeo-Christian heritage. It’s also an opportunity for me to proudly tout Anne Arundel County and the opportunities of its technology companies.
