Work related to Scheduled Collection System Upgrade

Annapolis (November 22, 2006) - The Department of Public Works (DPW) announced that work will soon begin on the scheduled upgrades to the wastewater collection system in Dreams Landing in Annapolis. Contractors working for DPW will be replacing the existing Dreams Landing sewage treatment plant with a new sewage pumping station and 6,000 linear feet of 4-inch force main. This project addresses the age of the existing pump and maintains compliance with Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) regulations

Construction work on the project is expected to begin in late November and is anticipated to be complete by November 2007. Work on Wilson and Bestgate Roads will take place Monday thru Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The work will necessitate the closure of a single lane of each of these roads at various times throughout the project. During the lane closures, traffic will be maintained by flagmen.

Motorists are asked to use caution and pay close attention to flagmen, signs and other traffic control devices when it is necessary to drive through the construction areas.

DPW will closely monitor any impact these lane closures may have on traffic. For further information, the public may call the DPW, Customer Relations at (410) 222-7582.
