Annapolis, MD (June 16, 2006) - Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. Owens announced the return of fireworks to Downs Park in Pasadena. "I am so happy that after a seven year absence, the excitement and thrill of a good fireworks display will be enjoyed by our North County residents again," said County Executive Janet S. Owens. Downs Park is located near the end of Mountain Road at 8311 John Downs Loop. The fireworks display will be held Monday, July 3, 2006 at 9:15 p.m. The park will be closed on the 3rd until 6:00 p.m. and no one will be allowed in the park before then. All parking for the event will be at Chesapeake Middle School and Bodkin Elementary. Free shuttle bus service will be provided to and from the park beginning at 6:00 p.m. The buses will load and unload in front of Bodkin Elementary on Ventnor Road. No parking will be allowed in or around Downs Park or the surrounding communities, unless you have a state issued handicap sticker or placard. Pedestrian traffic will not be allowed between the school complex and the park. The Anne Arundel County Police will limit vehicular traffic beyond the school complex to only residents of the communities located East of Ventnor Road. People planning to attend this event are encouraged to come early. Once parking at the school complex is full, no further admission to the event will be permitted. At the conclusion of the fireworks display, shuttle bus service will resume and continue until the park is clear. All busses will unload in front of Bodkin Elementary. Buses will not go to individual schools. This will improve the traffic pattern and speed your exit. Please be reminded the following are not permitted in the park: - Alcoholic beverages

- Swimming
