County Executive Janet S. Owens announced the appointment of Aaron J. Greenfield as President and CEO for the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation. Mr. Greenfield will promote the County’s economic growth by attracting and retaining companies that provide quality jobs for Anne Arundel County citizens, and that contribute to the tax base. "I am delighted that Mr. Greenfield will be joining my Administration. He is highly qualified, energetic and has broad experience in the private sector and extensive community involvement," commented County Executive Janet S. Owens. Mr. Greenfield has held various positions in government, the legal profession, and in the private sector since 1993. In these positions, he has provided commercial and business counseling, with special emphasis on corporate, employment and real estate matters. Prior to this appointment, he served as Associate Corporate Counsel for 1st Mariner Bancorp. He also holds the position of Executive Director of the Maryland Business Council. Mr. Greenfield holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law and is a member of the Maryland Bar and US District Court for the District of Maryland. The AAEDC is home to the Small Business Resource Center, which is a one-stop shop for business information, counseling and financial assistance to smaller businesses in the County. His appointment is effective March 1, 2006 at a salary of $ 127,000. |
