The County Executive also announced the availability of weekly, low cost rabies vaccination clinics at the County Animal Control facility in Millersville. A public service announcement detailing the clinic will begin airing this Friday on the County’s Government Cable Channel 98. "Vaccinating your pets is not only the right thing to do for your animal and the community, it’s required by Maryland State law," Ms. Owens said. "Hopefully, our low cost clinics will make this easier for everyone." The clinics take place on Thursdays from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Animal Control facility located at 411 Maxwell Frye Road in Millersville. The vaccination cost is five dollars. >> Rabies Clinic Under Maryland State law, all dogs, cats and ferrets four months of age and older must be vaccinated against rabies. The length of vaccine effectiveness varies depending on the vaccine used, the species and the age of the animal. Proof in the form of an up-to-date rabies certificate is a prerequisite for the purchase of an Anne Arundel County animal license. |
