Morale Remains High

Annapolis, MD (September 9, 2005)- Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. In a live satellite link with the unit and its personnel, Anne Arundel County Fire Chief Michael O’Connell told Ms. Owens, “The Mobile Command and Communications Unit has been able to establish interoperable communication on Jefferson Parrish Emergency Management’s Frequency and Louisiana State Police Local Frequency. A VHF repeater has been activated to establish radio communications with 4 of the 5 clinics nearby. The fifth site can hear but not transmit. Ms. Owens says, “The mission for today, is to get the fifth center completely operational.”  Chief O’Connell told Ms. Owens, “No Anne Arundel County responder has been injured, and morale is high.” County Executive Owens says, “ I am proud that our County employees are making a vital contribution to the residents of Louisiana during these challenging times.”
