Annapolis, MD (November 28, 2005) - In December the Anne Arundel County Department of Health will provide the following flu vaccination clinics: FLUMIST NASAL SPRAY* CLINIC FOR HEALTHY COUNTY RESIDENTS (5 to 49 years old ONLY) *Not for pregnant women Health Services Building - Lower Level Conference Room 3 Harry S. Truman Parkway in Annapolis Thursday, December 1, 2005, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. FLU VACCINE CLINIC FOR COUNTY RESIDENTS Health Services Building - Lower Level Conference Room 3 Harry S. Truman Parkway in Annapolis Monday, December 12, 2005, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. The Department of Health will also offer flu vaccines for children (6 months and older) and adults by appointment at two area health centers. Call the Glen Burnie Health Center at (410) 222-6633 or the Parole Health Center at (410) 222-7247 to schedule an appointment. Vaccinations are free; however, a $20 donation is appreciated. Medicare Part B cards may be used to cover the $20 donation. The national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advise that December is not too late to get the vaccine for anyone who wants to prevent the flu. In October and November 2005, the Anne Arundel County Department of Health provided vaccines for more than 14,600 county residents. The Flu Information Phone Line and flu Health Department Web page were popular with county residents. Approximately 500 calls were received on the phone line, and the flu Web page received more than 4,000 visits this fall.
