Annapolis, MD (October 13, 2005)- Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. Owens implemented the first of several recommendations from her Energy Task Force today, that will allow employees to conserve energy and improve the County’s air quality by reducing transportation on its roadways. The Alternative Work Schedule is available to all Government Employees who work a normal 40-hour workweek. "County residents will not see the quality of their services diminished in any way," said County Executive Owens. "And the program will not apply to Public Safety Personnel," she added. Three Alternative Work Schedules are available to the eligible County employees, who work five consecutive eight-hour days. The schedules include various options including four ten-hour workdays, followed by one day off a week. More recommendations will follow in the coming weeks, as the County Executives Energy Task Force continues to research options. |
