County Executive-Directed Four-Days of Discounted Golf A Hit With Residents Annapolis (August 31, 2005) - Anne Arundel County residents turned out in masses to take advantage of half-priced greens fees during the four-day grand opening celebration at Compass Pointe Golf Course. From August 8-11, the golf course nearly triple the amount of players and increased revenue by more than $18 thousand. "I am so pleased that so many of our citizens saw for themselves what a wonderful resource Compass Pointe is to our County," said Ms. Owens, who directed officials to discount the greens fees for County residents. "This was a way to show our appreciation to Anne Arundel County and to showcase one of the best public courses in the State. With Eisenhower, Anne Arundel County now owns two of the best public courses around." Celebration Week generated 1,549 total round of golf compared to 571 the previous week. Total revenues from August 8-11 were $46,393. Using the same period of days from the previous week, revenues improved by $18,315. |
