Additional Night Time Lane Closures Planned for Arundel on the Bay Road

'

Annapolis (September 22, 2005) - The Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works (DPW) announced today that additional evening lane closures are scheduled for Arundel-on-the-Bay Road beginning Sunday, September 25, 2005.

Contractors working on the force main project had already scheduled a lane closure in the vicinity of Hillsmere Elementary School on Tuesday night, September 27. Contractors working on a separate project to realign Arundel-on-the-Bay Road will also require lane closures in order to install storm drain pipe. These lane closures have been scheduled during the overnight hours over the next two weeks to minimize daytime traffic impacts.

In summary, residents and travelers on the Annapolis Neck Peninsula should expect single-lane closures on Arundel-on-the-Bay Road beginning Sunday night, September 25 through October 13, 2005 from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. in the vicinity of Hillsmere Elementary School.

Drivers should use caution and watch for traffic control signs and flagpersons.

DPW appreciates the community’s patience while these capital improvements are being completed.

The force main project is expected to be completed this December. The road alignment work will wrap up in February of next year.

Questions regarding the force main and road realignment projects should be directed to Vahid Tayebi at 410-222-7537 and Dennis Fretz at 410-222-7345.
