Annapolis (September 3, 2004) - Motorist are urged to use caution and stay alert for traffic control devices and flagmen as sewer line construction begins on Upton Road off New Cut Road. Work is scheduled to begin on Sept. 7, 2004. Travel lanes will be reduced to a single lane at times as construction moves west approximately 1700 feet on Upton Road. It is anticipated the length of time for this portion of the construction will be approximately three (3) months. The section of pipe under construction is part of a Capital Improvement Project. This project will extend the new gravity sewer interceptor from the new regional Cayuga Farms sewer pump station to.the existing gravity sewer main at New Cut Farm pump station to provide additional, planned capacity. The contractor, Matricciani Company of Baltimore, anticipates that work will be completed by late December. Work hours will be between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
