County Executive Presents Teen Activity Grant Awards

Annapolis (November 8, 2004) - Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. Owens presented Teen Activity Grant Awards to several organizations at a ceremony, last week, at the Arundel Center in Annapolis.  The Department of Recreation and Parks awarded $20,000 in Grants to 15 organizations throughout the County. 

The purpose of this grant money is to provide group activities for Anne Arundel County teenagers in a healthy, drug and alcohol-free atmosphere, while involving the community organizations in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the activities.

Organizations receiving Teen Activity Grant Awards:

  • “I Know I Can”
  • Broadneck Evangelical Presbyterian Church - 5th Quarter
  • Broadneck High School PTSO
  • Calvary Chapel
  • Gambrills Teen Club
  • The Harbour School Teen Social Club
  • Navy Junior ROTC - Annapolis High School
  • Shady Side Boys and Girls Club
  • Southern High School Music Boosters Association
  • Volunteers of Anne Arundel County
  • Woodside Gardens Council’s Planning Action Committee.
  • Chesapeake Bay Memories
  • First Night Annapolis
  • Handicapped Athletic Program
  • Pioneers in Action
