Annapolis, MD (December 3, 2004) - Glen Burnie Town Center Ice Skating is scheduled to open for the season this afternoon, Friday, December 3, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. The outdoor rink, located in the Central Plaza, will remain open through March. The rink will be open daily for recreational skating. Skating lessons and special events also take place at the site. The ice rink is located at 103 North Crain Highway (Rt 3) in Glen Burnie. The Glen Burnie Town Center is centrally located and convenient to I-97, Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard (Rt 648) and Ritchie Highway (Rt 2). Several popular programs will be continuing at the facility this year. Honor roll students at participating schools will be able to enjoy a free two-hour skating session at the ice rink. Friday and Saturday nights at the rink will feature contemporary music to appeal to middle and high school students. Fridays will continue to be Arthur Slade Day at Glen Burnie Town Center Ice Skating. Arthur Slade students are welcome to skate for a reduced rate, including skate rental, from noon until 6 p.m. Glen Burnie Town Center Ice Skating will be open daily, with extended hours during the holidays and school closings. Regular hours are: Sunday 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Monday, Wednesday and Thursday noon - 9 p.m.; Friday noon - 10 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Admission rates for adults are $6.00; Children and Seniors (55 and up) $5.00; with skate rental an additional $2.50.
