Annapolis (June 23, 2004) - Anne Arundel Executive Janet S. Owens recently reappointed seven members of the County Commission on Disability Issues.  The new terms will expire May 31, 2007.

"These outstanding individuals advise me on the extremely important issues that will promote and enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities," Ms. Owens said.  "On behalf of the citizens of Anne Arundel County, I express my sincerest appreciation for their outstanding work with the Commission."

The reappointments are as followed:

Ms. Nancy Timer Bunnemyer, Abilities Network, Annapolis
Mr. David Alan Tibbettts, Attorney representing disabled clients, Odenton

Ms. Iris M. Littig, Counselor, Annapolis
Mr. Michael Hakulin, Student, Millersville
Mr. Michael Benelli, Making Choices for Independent Living, Baltimore

The Commission on Disability Issues promotes and enhances the quality of life for people with disabilities by advising the County Executive and the County Council on the coordination and development of government policies, programs, services and allocation of resources for people with disabilities.  The Commission also proposes the means by whereby the needs of citizens with disabilities can be met.
