Department of Public Works Reports Wastewater Spill In Mayo

Overflow Stopped As Crews Repair Force Main

Annapolis (June 25, 2004) – The Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works (DPW) report a spill of wastewater in the Bear Neck Creek, a tributary of the Road River in Mayo.  The water body affected is between Camp Letts and the communities of Holly Hills and Germantown.

DPW officials advise the public to avoid contact with the water until repairs are made and the Health Department determines the area safe for water contact.

Streets adjacent to West Shore and Overhill Roads are also affected.
