Annapolis (July 30, 2004) - The Department of Public Works, Bureau of Highways, continues to make scheduled improvements to Bay Ridge Road in Annapolis between Hillsmere Drive and 1071 Bay Ridge Road, a distance of approximately 4000 feet. At this time, the contractor, Patuxent Paving and Construction, LLC is preparing the road for resurfacing by removing a portion of the existing asphalt and adjusting utilities. In order to safely accomplish these preparations, the contractor will keep one lane open to traffic in each direction of Bay Ridge Road in the area of the improvements from 5:00 p.m. Sunday night, August 1 through 6:00 a.m. Monday morning (August 2). Work will continue for the next two weeks during the day from 8am to 4 pm. Single lane closures; i.e, one lane at a time, will occur for utility adjustments. Motorists should use caution, expect delays and be aware of signs and flagmen. Final paving will occur during the week of August 23, 2004 at night. Lane closures are planned for this week during the night-time operation. The entire project is expected to be finished by August 27, weather permitting. Motorists should continue to use caution and be aware of traffic control messages and workers until that time. For further information, the public may call Wayne Menchey, the on-site inspector, at 410.222.4350. |
