TKF Foundation Presents Check to County Executive Janet S. Owens for Bates Project

Annapolis (October 11, 2004) -- Today, Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. Owens received a $125,000 check from the Annapolis-based TKF Foundation toward the construction of the Memorial Courtyard at Wiley H. Bates Heritage Park.  The matching grant was awarded to the County and its nonprofit partner Arundel Community Development Services, Inc. through the Foundation's Open Spaces Sacred Spaces program.  Also present at the site to celebrate the receipt of this grant will be Alma Cropper, President of the Stanton Bates Alumni Association and Judge Essom Ricks, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Wiley H. Bates Legacy Center.
