$150 Thousand To Help Off-Road Parking For WB&A Trail In Odenton Annapolis (December 9, 2004) - The State of Maryland Board of Public Works approved $150,350 in Program Open Space funding to Anne Arundel County to help officials acquire 6 acres of land along Patuxent Road to improve off-road parking along the WB&A Trail between Odenton and the Patuxent River. “These funds will go along way to improve the overall trail experiences in Anne Arundel County,” said County Executive Janet S. Owens. “I want to thank the Board for their support of our efforts to promote healthy exercise and our wonderful outdoors.” The narrow shoulders along rural Patuxent Road created the need for safe parking for trail goers. No other appropriate sites are available on this trail segment. The WB&A Trail follows the bed of the old WB&A Railroad and is intended for walking, jogging, cycling, rollerblading and horseback riding. |
