Presentations Also Available To Community Groups

Annapolis (November 26, 2003) - The Anne Arundel County Board of Elections will provide demonstrations and officially kick off the new AccuVote Touch-Screen Voting System to the public and officially open the new Election Office Annex on Wednesday, December 3, 2003.  The event will begin at 11 a.m. at 7409-A Baltimore and Annapolis Boulevard.

The County Board of Elections is responsible for informing and educating Anne Arundel County voters about the new system by Presidential Primary Election Day, March 2, 2004.  The new voting machines utilize "Touch-Screen" computer monitors, on which the voter touches the screen to select candidates and cast their ballots.  The voting process is user-friendly, flexible and accessible for all voters with disabilities.

Any community group or organization interested in hosting a demonstration should contact the Board of Elections at 410-222-6600.
