County Executive Appoints Minority Business Enterprise Committee

Group Oversees The Implementation and Operation of the MBE Program

Annapolis (December 11, 2003) - Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S Owens announced the appointment of the following new members to the Anne Arundel County Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Committee:

  • Alvin Williams, McDonald's I & II
  • Veronica Eyenga, VBP Outsourcing
  • Ki Lee, Mailboxes, Inc.
  • Vena Shamanna, Kutti Tech, Inc
  • Felicia Sauls, SKY Neurological Rehabilitation

These new appointees will join the existing membership of:

  • Dr Alyson Hall, The Glaucoma Center
  • Raymond Langston, Vice Mayor/Highland Beach
  • Anne Harrod, Transforming You
  • William Bush, Venice Building Consultants
  • Carol Kasper, BankAnnapolis
  • Robert McGlotten, Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation

The MBE Committee is responsible for advising the County Executive on operation of the County's Minority Business Enterprise Outreach Program to ensure equal business opportunity for women and minority-owned firms. The County spent approximately $42.3 million with women and minority-owned firms during Fiscal Year 2001 - 2003.

MBEC meetings are held bi-monthly in the Office of Central Services, 2660 Riva Rd, Annapolis, Maryland at 6pm.  Meetings are open to the public.
