Public Service Announcement Will Begin Airing Tonight

'

Annapolis (September 15,2003) - Anne Arundel County citizens can find much needed hurricane preparedness information on the County's Government Cable channel. County Executive Janet S. Owens and Fire Chief Roger C. Simonds, Sr. discuss ways citizens can prepare for the expected severe weather related to Hurricane Isabel in a public service announcement beginning tonight.

"W e want every citizen of Anne Arundel County to be as prepared as possible in the event of severe weather conditions," Ms. Owens said. "I hope that Isabel takes a turn away from our region, but we cannot take any chances. We need to be ready and know that effective planning for any emergency situations can prevent injuries or loss of life."

Chief Simonds and the County Executive discuss some household necessities in the event of a hurricane. They also detail what is needed in your family's emergency supply or shelter-in-place kits.
The PSA will begin airing tonight on Comcast Cable channel 98 and 99. It can also be viewed on Millennium Cable channel 79.
