Annapolis (November 4, 2003) - County Executive Janet S. Owens has approved a $340,000 project to rebuild Sudbury Road between Cheddington Road and Madingley Road in the Linthicum community of Crestwood. Beginning mid-November, the Department of Public Works' contractor NZI Construction Corporation of Beltsville will begin removing and replacing the existing deteriorated roadway. The project will include new curb, gutter, handicap sidewalk ramps and improvements to storm drain inlets. Work on this $220,000 construction contract is expected to be completed by late March 2004. The project is part of Ms. Owens ongoing efforts to rebuild and maintain deteriorating county roadways. Both Cheddington Road and Madingley Road have been rehabilitated under this program. Work will take place Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Residents can expect to see construction equipment, workers, and temporary traffic control devices. One lane of traffic will be closed during paving and milling operations, however, traffic will be maintained at all times. As driveway aprons are being replaced, individual driveways may be inaccessible for a day. Affected residents will be notified in advance. On street parking may be temporarily unavailable in construction zones while work is being performed. Professional Consulting Services, Inc. of Glen Burnie will provide inspection services for the project. Questions should be directed to Carl Price, on-site inspector, at 410-761-9889 or 443-386-2546 or the Department of Public Works' project manager Dennis Fretz at 410-222-7345. |
