A Firefighter from the Office of Fire Safety and Injury Prevention Education will be scheduled to visit your third grade class. A highlight of the presentation is the "Hazard House", an interactive table top model of a house filled with commonly found hazards. The students will discuss the hazards found in the house and share ways to make the model home and their homes safer. The lesson will give students the information needed to develop a home fire escape plan and encourage practicing fire drills in the home.
Two classes can be combined in one classroom to allow time for all of your school’s second grade classes to participate.
